Round Rock Falls in Back-And-Forth Affair Against Anderson

Round Rock and Anderson passed the lead back-and-forth on Wednesday, but eventually Anderson prevailed 6-5 in nine innings. The game was tied at five with Anderson batting in the top of the ninth when the Trojans took the lead for good on one of four Dragon errors. Round Rock Wins Back-And-Forth Affair Against Stony Point

Round Rock took the lead for good in the seventh inning to capture a back-and-forth game from Stony Point by a 5-4 score on Wednesday March 15. The game was tied at four with Round Rock batting in the top of the seventh when Kyle Hawkins singled home the go-ahead run off the Tigers closer. Round Rock earned the victory despite allowing Stony Point to score three runs in the sixth inning. Stony Point’s big inning was driven by three consecutive extra base hits. Dragons Open District Play With 8-1 Win over Stony Point

Round Rock opened the scoring in the second inning as pitcher Grant Miller led off with an infield single and stole second. After Tyler Pettit walked, Miller scored on an error by the pitcher, advancing Pettit to third. With two outs the runner at second Jake Miller baited the catcher into a pickoff attempt, scoring Pettit. After the Tigers cut the lead to 2-1 on a solo homer in the fourth, the Dragons got the run back after Pettit was hit by a pitch. Round Rock broke through late, scoring four in the sixth and three in the seventh to knock off the Cougars 7-2 in the first game of the Brenham Alumni Tournament. Grant Miller didn’t allow a single run as Round Rock defeated Kingwood Park 1-0 on Friday March 3. Miller allowed just four hits and induced a double-play from Tommy Ivey to end the game.
